Franchise History
Started in 1900 as the Chicago White Stockings, the team won the very first American League championship title in 1901. The White Sox, as they were then known, continued to enjoy success with a 1906 World Series win. However, the Chicago White Sox would suffer through several rough years before rising again in 2000 with an American League Central Division title. Since then, the team has continued to climb in both success and popularity. Sometimes called "the South Siders," the White Sox have an intense and sometimes violent rivalry with same-city team the Chicago Cubs. These Crosstown Rival games sell out quickly — and for good reason. Don't wait to get your cheap Chicago White Sox tickets, as they often sell out quickly. The Chicago White Sox have a loyal fan base who're ready to cheer on their team and yell at the refs. Get your cheap White Sox tickets today and secure your seat at Guaranteed Rate Field.
Guaranteed Rate Field
The Chicago White Sox's home field, renamed Guaranteed Rate Field in 2016, is one of the most remarkable ballparks in the country! The stadium features a fan deck, offering a panoramic view of the field from a two-tiered deck. Can't enjoy the game because your kids want to go home? Take them to the Kids Zone located in left field. Kids can enjoy a whiffle ball diamond, batting and pitching cages, and other areas to learn about the fundamentals of baseball! Another amazing feature of this ballpark is the two blue seats in the audience. The seats where Paul Konerko's famous grand slam and Scott Podsednik's game winning home run landed remain the original blue color, while the rest were painted dark green during renovation.
Biggest Rivalries
The White Sox have been rivals with the cross-town team, the Chicago Cubs, since interleague play was introduced in 1997. The rivalry became volatile in 2006 when Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski crashed into Cubs catcher Michael Barrett while running to home base. One of baseball's biggest melees ensued following this!
Come to Guaranteed Rate Field to witness a rebuilt Chicago White Sox take on MLB's biggest competition! The White Sox have an incredibly loyal fanbase, so tickets will go fast! Don't miss out on any of the action! Check out the Chicago White Sox 2024 schedule here at CheapTickets. Play Ball!

Why Does Chicago Have Two Baseball Teams?
Chicago has two Major League Baseball teams: the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago White Sox. The reason for the two teams is because the Chicago Cubs began as part of the National League in 1876. However, when the American League started in 1901, the Chicago White Sox became a part of that. The two teams are also located in opposite parts of the city with the Cubs playing in North Side and the White Sox playing in South Side.
