Dashboard Confessional's origin story starts with Chris Carrabba, who was yearning for a solo creative outlet while performing with the band Further Seems Forever. Carrabba eventually struck out on his own, releasing his second solo album, The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most, as Dashboard Confessional. Rounding out the lineup of the band in 2002, the group started to gain traction with listeners, the single "Screaming Infidelities" snagging an award at the MTV Video Music Awards. A Mark, a Mission, a Brand, a Scar came out the following year, hitting the No. 2 spot on the charts. With their song "Vindicated" included on the Spider-Man 2 soundtrack, the band's popularity reached new audiences. In 2010, to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the band's debut album, Dashboard Confessional re-released The Swiss Army Romance on vinyl.

20^th Anniversary Tour
