History

The band's origins begin in the Indie genre. When the group was formed it started out as a duo, with only Steven Page and Ed Robertson. They were longtime friends. They saw early success in the early 90s, especially after gathering three new band members. In 1991, they released their demo tape called, "The Yellow Tape." It was the first time the whole group had recorded. After they finished recording the demo, they sent it out to multiple record labels. Page Publications ended up signing the band to their label. The Barenaked Ladies then began recording hit albums through the mid-90s. In more recent years, the band was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame on March 25, 2018.

2022 Tour

The 2020 Barenaked Ladies tour was postponed to 2022 due to unforeseen circumstances at the time. Once the band finished up a new album in 2021, they announced more tour dates started in 2022.
