Today's Queen of Blues Rock
Growing up in Los Angeles , it was only a matter of time before Beth Hart found herself drawn to the spotlight. But when she started playing the piano at four years old, she was more interested in classical music. As she grew up, her repertoire expanded. As a teenager she studied singing and cello at school but would go hone her blues rock sound on clubs around Los Angeles. She began recording music, competing, and touring, even performing at Lollapalooza .
In 1999 her album Screamin' for My Supper started a buzz around her, first in New Zealand where her single "LA Song (Out of This Town)" became a No. 1 hit. Her next album, Leave the Light On, spread her popularity to Europe. Throughout the years she has continued to cement her status as one of today's best blues rock musicians, with 2012's Bang Bang Boom Boom hitting No. 3 on the Billboard Blues Album chart.
She has developed close relationships with other legendary musicians, frequently touring with Jeff Beck and collaborating with Joe Bonamassa. The following year the two released Seesaw, which made the number 8 slot on the Billboard Top Independent Album Chart. In 2014 Hart had the honor of a nomination for a Grammy for the album, as well as a Blues Music Award for ‘Best Contemporary Blues Female Artist.’ The album is that of her highest held position on the Billboard 200.
Her seventh album released was titled Better Than Home – this was an album she described recording it as “painful.” She recorded the album in just five days due to pressure from her album’s producer Michael Stevens’ cancer diagnosis. The pressure paid off though, because the lead single, “Mechanical Heart,” charted as #1 on the iTunes Blues list. For her following album, Fire on the Floor, Hart wrote all but two songs by herself.
Hart released War in My Mind in September 2019. Songs on the album include “Thankful,” “Bad Woman Blues,” “War In My Mind,” “I Need a Hero,” “Rub Me for Luck” and more. Her next tour for her album is vast and impressive, get your cheap tickets so you can see it for yourself!
