A whirlwind of glam and talent
Started in 1981 by lead singer Boy George, Culture Club quickly gained the attention of the music industry. Their third single, "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me," blasted to the top of the charts in several countries. Culture Club's sophomore album, Colour by Numbers, was another smash hit success, and the United States welcomed the band as part of the second British Invasion. However, due to drug additions, a dragging production schedule, and internal conflict, Culture Club collapsed under its fame and disbanded in 1986. Over a decade later, Culture Club reunited to tour and release a new studio album, but enthusiasm from the band fizzled out. In 2014 the band reunited again with what seemed to be renewed vigor.
