Twisting up the alt rock game

Jared "Dirty J" Watson and Dustin "Duddy B" Bushnell met while they were high school students in Orange County, and soon they were writing music together in the garage. The duo added more musicians to the group and began performing locally, attracting the attention of Warner Bros. However, Dirty Heads and Warner Bros. didn't click, and soon the band was looking for a new label. Eventually they landed with a pair of trusted producers, releasing their debut record in 2008. Mixed by the Beastie Boys' own producer Mario C, Any Port in a Storm featured surprisingly big names, considering it was the group's first album. Their popularity increased as they toured with bands like O.A.R.' and 311. By the time they released Cabin by the Sea, Dirty Heads were hometown heroes. Even as the group prolifically releases albums, Dirty Heads doesn't get complacent. 2014's Sound of Change was an acoustic album, and the following year Dirty Heads got together with Blues Traveler to contribute to Blow Up the Moon.
