J.I.D. Tickets
About J.I.D.
In an era where mumble rappers are at the forefront of the industry, J.I.D delivers a refreshing, lyrical flow in his tracks. The technicality of his rhyme scheme and his unique twist on wordflow has gained him recognition from J. Cole, who signed him to his record label Dreamville Records. His live shows stand him out as a competant competitor in today's rap game. Get your cheap J.I.D tickets right now on CheapTickets to see this young artist perform!
Early Life
Destin Choice Route was born on Halloween in 1990 in Atlanta, Georgia. He adopted his artist name from his grandmother's nickname for him based on his "jittery" demeaner. He is influenced by D'Angelo, Jay-Z, Nas, Wu-Tang Clan and Mobb Deep. In order to fund his mixtapes before getting booked for live shows, J.I.D worked in call centers and delivered pizzas. He released a handful of mixtapes from 2010 to 2014 with the help of Spillage Village, a group he had formed with Earthgang, Hollywood JB, and JordxnBryant. Alongside Earthgang and Bas, he went on to open for Ab-Soul's These Days tour. J.I.D released a series of Mixtapes known as the Bears Like This tapes, with features from J. Cole and production from people like Mac Miller and Childish Major. J. Cole signed the young rapper to his Dreamville label in early 2017, and released his hit single "NEVER". He went on to perform as an opening act on the 4 Your Eyez Only tour with J. Cole. The next year, J.I.D was featured on the XXL's 2018 Freshman Class cover, an accomplishment of high standard in the rap industry. He released a series of tapes called DiCaprio Ep and DiCaprio 2, the latter of which featured artists like A$AP Ferg, Method Man and Joey Bada$$.
