About Judas Priest
Judas Priest crashed onto the rock scene in the 1970s to become one of the greatest metal bands to date. With operatic vocals from singer Rob Halford and dazzlingly twin guitars, Judas Priest spawned new trends in rock. Icons of Heavy Metal
Judas Priest had rocky beginnings leading up to the release of Rocka Rolla in 1974. The psychedelic rock album was a commercial disappointment, but undeterred the band pushed on to record the more metal album Sad Wings of Destiny. Their popularity began to rise, with a memorable performance at the 1975 Reading Festival and their leather-and-studs style. As they ushered in the era of glam metal, Judas Priest's album British Steel became emblematic of the genre and a commercial success. Judas Priest concerts thrum with the musicians' sensational stage presence – and stunts, like Halford's habit of riding a motorcycle on stage -- and the band has become a favorite at festivals like Ozzfest. Judas Priest has dazzled metal fans for decades, though they are often at the center of controversy as well. In 1992 vocalist Halford quit the band and was replaced by Tim "Ripper" Owens. Halford staged his return nearly a decade later in 2003, in part due to fan demand. Judas Priest continues to blaze their way through history, with their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018.
50 Heavy Metal Years Tour 2021
In celebration of the band's 50th anniversary, in September 2021 Judas Priest embarked on a lengthy tour with support from Swedish heavy metal band, Sabaton, kicking things off at the Santandar Arena in Reading, PA. Along the tour, there were stops made in Philadelphia PA, Charlotte NC, Grand Rapids MI, Phoenix AZ, and many more cities! Their final North American performance was in Lowell, MA on October 31st at the Tsongas Center.
With Firepower out in 2018, Judas Priest keeps rocking the world. Get your cheap Judas Priest tickets here for an unforgettable night with metal legends!
