A star singer-songwriter
Growing up in Seattle with a musical father, Judy Collins' own musical education began at an early age. She was especially inspired by the folk artists of the day, musicians like Woody Guthrie and Peter Seeger. She made a name for herself playing all over the country, in Boulder and Denver and eventually New York City. In 1961 she released A Maid of Constant Sorrow. For several years she recorded other artists' music, making a strong showing of her own compositions in 1967's with Wildflowers. The single "Both Sides, Now," written by Joni Mitchell, slingshot Collins to fame and won her a Grammy Award. Since then she has continued to play everything from folk to pop, show tunes to rock and roll. For both her musical talent and her spirited activism, Judy Collins remains an inspiration for people all over the world. Even Bill and Hillary Clinton were moved by her music, reportedly naming their daughter after her single "Chelsea Morning." In 2017 she released Everybody Knows with her former romantic partner, Stephen Stills.
She has a voice that has lasted through the ages, which shines even more vibrantly at Judy Collins concerts. Make sure you don't miss out on seeing her live – pick up your cheap Judy Collins tickets here!
