The Man Behind the Magic

Mac King was born on December 2, 1959 in Kentucky. Growing up both of his grandfathers were amateur magicians, which is where he credits his love for magic. After high school King went on to attend Macalester College in Minnesota, where he majored in Anthropology and Magic. While in college home on summer breaks he worked alongside his buddy doing magic at a western-themed park. Upon graduating college, he began to perform at comedy clubs doing standup comedy magic. He quickly became a sensation performing in over 200 shows a year. Eventually he was able to land a spot on national television doing various TV specials. In the 90s he also became well known in the Las Vegas Casinos, which in 2000 helped land him a spot as a permanent act at Harrah’s.

Harrah’s

In 2000 King signed a deal with Harrah’s in Las Vegas to be a permanent stage act. Eighteen years later and he is still going strong performing ten shows a week there. He has made it a custom that after shows he meets with every audience member as they are walking out, happily signing autographs and taking pictures.
