                About Miike Snow
Believe it or not, Miike Snow isn't a one-man band. This Swedish indie electro-pop group is made up of three members: writer and producers Christian Karlsson, Pontus Winnberg and Andrew Wyatt. Karlsson and Winnberg had been friends since childhood and even performed in other bands together. They never intended the band to be more than a side project, but when their cheap tickets started to sell out tours, they settled on Miike Snow. Some believe the inspiration for their band name was partially stolen from a Japanese film director, Takashi Miike. However Winnberg explained that they had gotten an email from a friend named Mike Snow and added the extra "i" to make it look cool.
Original sound
Their sound is most impressive because they opt not to use computers to get their
sound. Instead, they use a hexagonal synthesizer. To help other bands create and perfect sound like theirs, Miike Snow
founded the record label INGRID along with artists Peter Bjorn and John, Lykke Li, Coco Morier and Dungeon. Some critics
have found Miike Snow's sound to be a hybrid of indie pop bands A-ha and Animal Collective. But because the band started as
an accident and they create their own sound on the synthesizer, their influence is hard to pin down.
Billboard charts and collaborations
The band is huge in the electro-pop dance scene. You've
definitely heard - and likely put on repeat - classic songs like "Genghis Kahn," "Black and Blue" and their first
breakthrough hit, "Animal." So far this year, their new album "iii" is doing extremely well. It has made it onto several
Billboard categories including the Billboard 200 and Top Rock Albums. They've collaborated with some of this generation's
most memorable artists, including international pop stars Britney
Spears, Madonna and Kylie Minogue. Miike Snow was a part of the
production of Spears' "Toxic," which if you can recall won a Grammy for Best Dance Recording in 2005 - so they're used to
creating chart-topping hits. These guys have already made it to all the big shows and festivals. They've performed at
events for SXSW and did a concert series for Jimmy Kimmel Live!. Now you can get cheap Miike Snow tickets to see them and
other bands like them at festivals like Coachella, the Governors Ball Music Festival and Lollapalooza. Put on your dancing shoes and grab some Miike Snow tickets
to see this epic band when they come to your town next.
