About National Finals Rodeo
Held every December on the University of Nevada campus in Las Vegas, the National Finals Rodeo features the most talented names in the world of Rodeo fighting for the top prize. It's the official end to the PRCAs rodeo season and features a wide range of rodeo activities including bull riding, barrel racing, saddle riding, team roping, steer wrestling, bareback riding and calf roping.
The competition happens over a ten-day period with a series of rounds that are averaged to determine winners in every category. The prize pool for every category is usually well over hundreds of thousands of dollars, meaning that everyone finishing in the top eight are bringing home a significant cash prize. History of the National Finals Rodeo
The NFR was established in 1958. The first year it was held in Dallas, Texas. It remained in Dallas until 1962 when they moved the rodeo to Oklahoma City. In 1985, they moved the event once again to the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, where it remains today. The NFR is one of the biggest Thomas & Mack Center clients, as the National Finals Rodeo brings in over 170,000 fans every year.

For the first time in over 50 years, the NFR was held in Texas. With state regulations in Nevada preventing fans in the stands at NFR 2020, the PRCA relocated to Globe Life Field in Arlington, TX from the Thomas & Mack Center in Vegas, to maintain the amazing NFR experience for its fans.
