About Odesza

Odesza is a two-man EDM band founded in 2012 by Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight who began recording together their senior year after meeting at Western Washington University. The two explained that they came from different backgrounds, Mills was majorly influenced by Nas and Gorillaz, whereas Knight was more of an Animal Collective and M83 guy. When they met they began jamming together working from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., which is where some of their inspiration for some of their music comes from. Their music gained popularity via the internet, and although that seems like a pretty cheap ticket, you have to experience them live to get the real deal. The duo anticipates that they will help North America catch up to where Europe is with electronic music. In North America, Odesza explained, EDM is more of a dance party, whereas in Europe its much more eclectic electronic music.

Odesza's accolades come from their devoted fan base. They have earned 21 Hype Machine No. 1 spots, have 66 million SoundCloud streams, received over 29 million Spotify plays in 90 days, and 34.5 million Pandora plays in 30 days. Their music has been licensed by major brands including Adidas, Target, and The North Face, just to name a few. "How Did I Get Here" and "iPlayYouListen", two songs from their first album, "Summer's Gone," became instant hits as the soared to the No. 1 spot on the Hype Machine Popular Chart. Popular songs include jams like "Say My Name," "Bloom" and "Faded Remix."

Odesza started touring, and gathering more and more fans as they traveled around. However, they really hit their lucky break when Pretty Lights asked them to support him on his fall tour. Fans were selling out concerts and it seemed like there weren't enough Odesza tickets to go around. They even sold out their entire North American tour in 2014, which ended at the major festival Coachella. The duo works hard to create a show that compliments their albums, but shape their ambience in the moment. It's completely live, as opposed to other artists who mix in the studio. This is what has captivated audiences everywhere - they sell out concerts internationally and plan to hit all the major festivals including Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Hangout and Governors Ball.
