About Oklahoma!
This Rodgers and Hammerstein classic was an instant sensation when it opened on Broadway in 1943, and its impact on musical theater has echoed throughout the decades. Join in the fun and romance of the Wild West by getting your cheap Oklahoma! tickets here!
Home and Heart on the Range
While cowboys may be able to tame the Wild West, in one small Oklahoma town they have bigger problems with smaller territories. Cowboy Curly McLain finally decides to properly pursue his crush, Laurey Williams, but the beautiful farmer's daughter has become fed up with his indecision. She chooses to go to the town dance with Jud Fry, a lonely, dangerous character, instead. The battle between Curly and Jud over Laurey's heart is one small part of a bigger social problem that brews into violence – the territorial fight between cowboys and farmers. Jud turns his aggression on Laurey, who rejects him and runs to Curly to confess her true feelings. Curly proposes to her with no hesitation, even though it means he will have to leave his life as a cowboy and settle down as a farmer. Not even a wild cowboy can resist the pull of the heart towards the hearth.
With flirtations and fights, Oklahoma! is a true romp through the early twentieth century society, backed by classic songs like "The Surrey with the Fringe on Top," "People Will Say We're in Love," and "Oklahoma." Reserve the best seats in the house by snagging your cheap Oklahoma! tickets today!
