The indie and alternative rock band formed in 2013. Sam Melo and Darrick Keller started writing music when they attended Appalachian State University and later formed an official band. Once Ethan Goodpaster, Jess Haney and Charlie Holt joined the duo, the band started to release their music. They released their first album under a record label at their university, but their fame quickly went to more than just their fellow students. In the next few years, the band performed at Bonnaroo Music Festival, Austin City Limits and other music festivals. After their festival success, they released How To: Friend, Love, Freefall album under a different record label. After one of their singles climbed the Billboard Alternative Song chart, it gave the band enough recognition to go on their first tour. The group performed all over North America that summer to promote the new album. In late 2020, the band released a new single called Our Song. Back with new music, the band scored a slot to perform at the Hangout Music Festival in 2021, another big festival to add to their list. The band also is set to perform summer concerts at the Red Rocks Amphitheater in 2021, after over a year of no performances.
