Growing up in Chicago, Ravyn Lenae was bitten by the music bug at a young age. As a child she started singing, eventually picking up the guitar and the piano. She recorded R&B while studying classical music at the Chicago High School for the Arts. She began working with Monte Booker, and in 2015 she released Moon Shoes online for free. The debut EP was followed by Midnight Moonlight in 2017, garnering attention from publications like Rolling Stone. Despite still being a high school student, Ravyn Lenae caught the attention of the music industry with her gravity and depth. She has toured with Noname and SZA, as well as recording with artists like Mick Jenkins and Monte Booker. Inspired by a plethora of artists, Ravyn Lenae infuses her music with elements from nearly every genre, weaving a rainbow of moods with her smooth voice and poetic lyrics.
