Third Eye Blind (sometimes known as 3EB) started when band members Stephan Jenkins and Kevin Cadogan approached each other after a show and expressed how much they liked each other’s music. Not long after that the two began writing songs together, with Jenkins on lyrics and Cadogan brainstorming. From 1993-1996 the band released a total of three demos; some self-funded others funded through record labels. Their demos gained the attention of the music industry, but it was their opening gig on an Oasis tour that brought them commercial success. After their performance the band found themselves amid several record labels that wanted to sign them. Ultimately, they chose Elektra Records because that was the only label willing to give the band artistic license.
Third Eye Blind's self-titled debut album was an instant hit, including smash hit singles like "Semi-Charmed Life," "How's It Going to Be," and "Jumper." Selling over 12 million records worldwide, Third Eye Blind became one of the most popular alternative rock bands on the 1990s, with their unique rock sound and passionate, raw vocals, so don't wait to find a Third Eye Blind concert near you!
