Completed in 1929, the Fox Theatre was initially going to be a Yaarab Shrine Temple. However, due to its expensive price tag, construction was only finished by leasing the building to movie theatre king William Fox. Over the years, the Fox Theatre was a movie palace, a dance hall, and a live entertainment venue. The venue went through hard times, too, and in the 1970s it was in danger of being replaced by a parking lot. However, the community banded together to save the historic building.
