About MetLife Stadium
One of the most well-known sporting stadiums on the east coast. MetLife is located in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The stadium is a proud host of the New York Jets and the New York Giants. As the Giants stadium was hitting 30 years, the owners began looking for a way to update the stadium. The Jets and Giants entered into a partnership to build a stadium 50-50. Previously the stadium was called Meadowlands for the Jet’s home games while it was called Giants Stadium for the Giants home games.
The stadium also hosted the 29th WrestleMania. Which turned out to be the 3rd largest in attendance for any WWE event ever.
Statistics
The stadium supports over 75,000 seats. With 4 locker rooms to support the two home teams as well as 2 locker rooms for the visiting teams. In 2012, a solar ring was added to the stadium to help generate electricity for the stadium and whatever is not used for the stadium is sent to their local grid.
