Growing up in Arkansas, strumming her father's guitar, Ashley McBryde was developing a passion for country music that would fuel her whole life. After graduating from college she independently released an album, then moved to Nashville to be at the heart of the music industry. She proved her worth at the Country Showdown by winning two years in a row, in 2009 and 2010. She continued to release music and began touring the country, when Eric Church heard her music and put her on stage. She began opening for juggernauts like Willie Nelson and Chris Stapleton. In 2017 her single "A Little Dive Bar in Dahlonega" started creating buzz, paving the way for her first major label record, Girl Going Nowhere. Released in 2018, her debut album climbed all the way to No. 7 on the US Country Albums chart.
