From a Dorm Room to Center Stage

When Mike Eli and James Young met as freshman roommates at the University of North Texas, it didn't take them long to start jamming together in their dorm room. Soon they were performing as a duo, and not long after they were joined by Chris Thompson and Jon Jones to form the Eli Young Band. They released their debut album in 2005, and soon they were performing ahead of stars like Miranda Lambert and Robert Earl Keen. In 2011 their single "Crazy Girl" became a smash hit, even going on to win them the Song of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards. Singles like "Even If It Breaks Your Heart" and "Drunk Last Night" have firmly set them in the pantheon of modern-day country rockers. Following the release of 10,000 Towns, the band won the ACM Award for Vocal Group of the Year.

Concert in Your Car

In lieu of recent events changing the landscape of concerts, Eli Young Band has worked in collaboration with the Texas Rangers organization to use their stadium to host a “concert in your car” series. A set maximum number of fans are permitted to purchase tickets to park within the parking lot of Globe Life Field and listen to the bands perform on a stage set up just outside of the ballpark. Fans can tune in to a set FM radio station to hear the band live. The concerts are set to be an hour in length, and fans in attendance are not permitted to leave their vehicle. The Eli Young Band had two performances at Globe Life Field in Arlington on June 4, 2020.
