About Marco Carola
Born on February 7, 1975, in Naples, Italy, Italian DJ Marco Carola was raised in the city of his birth. He discovered a love of music during his early teen years, after being handed a drum kit at the age of 13. He became a talented player over the years, dedicating considerable amounts of time to honing his craft. His passion for drumming was extinguished, however, by a growing love of record collecting. By the age of 15 Carola had procured a set of decks and a mixer, on which he began to practice as a DJ - inspired by the explosion of Acid House and Italian House music of the 90s club scene. Carola displayed a natural talent for mixing and a star was born.
Just getting started
Throughout the early 90s, Carola collaborated with friends and fellow DJs
Davide Squillace, Gaetano Parisio and Random Noize on a number of exciting projects, shifting his focus to the burgeoning
genre of techno music in 1993. With a little help from his friends, Carola established his own music studio, dedicated to
producing truly innovative and exciting techno tracks. The studio became a hotspot for local musical talent, with many
artists recording tracks at the venue. During this time Carola worked as a DJ, releasing a number of house and techo tracks
and cultivating a loyal following. Fans soon became eager to get their hands on cheap tickets to his sets. His track
releases were produced by other record labels during this time, and Carola soon became frustrated with his lack of creative
control.
Critical and commerical acclaim
His solution was simple: In 1996 Carola created his own techno
music label, Design Music. The first release from Carola's fledgling record label was his own "Man Train 12," which
received critical and commercial acclaim. Carola's record label subsequently grew to become one of Italy's premier techno
music record labels. The label has signed a number of prominent new artists such as Random Noize and Gaetek, and by the
late 1990s Carola embarked on a number of phenomenally successful tours - using his unique three-deck style of mixing to
produce memorable tracks and traveling to locations such as North America and Australia. Cheap tickets to his sets were
snapped up quickly, and he became one of the most sought-after and renowned techno DJs of the period. His extensive sets
became legendary among partygoers across the world, from Ibiza to Brazil to Berlin to New York, often times running over
eight hours each.
Successful albums
In addition to his legendary performances, Carola has released a slew of
critically and commercially successful albums, including 2002's "Question 10" and 2011's "Play It Loud!" Furthermore,
Carola has produced a number of popular mixes, including a 2006 offering for a series at London nightclub Fabric and a 2009
compilation for Time Warp. Carola remains one of the world's foremost techno DJs, and with a number of shows and sets in
the pipeline, it's clear that he won't be quitting the decks anytime soon. Fans shouldn't delay - grab cheap Marco Carola
