Career and Rise to Fame

Patrick Green was born on April 5, 1972 in San Antonio, Texas. Growing up Pat was very involved in music, but it wasn’t until he was fired from his job at 18 years old that he decided to fully commit to becoming a full-time musician. After just two short years in the country music industry, he garnered the attention of Willie Nelson who then asked him to make an appearance at his 1998 July 4^th picnic concert. Not long after Pat Green was performing for sold out crowds around Texas, and he soon gained sponsorships from major beverage companies. Although he was reaching immense local success, it was not until 2001 that Green would get signed on to a record label.

His first major record label release came in 2001 when Green released Three Days, with the leading single “Wave on Wave” bringing commercial success for the young singer. In the subsequent years Green was unable to produce another major hit, although he was still prominent among other country music stars. Over the course of his career Pat Green has gone on tour with stars including Keith Urban, Dave Matthews Band and Kenny Chesney. Around 2011 Green moved on from releasing music under a record label and went back to his roots of releasing independent music.
